The San Diego Caver soccer team (1) advanced in their division playoff match beating Otay Ranch (8) 3-1 in Friday nights’ second round elimination game. The Cavers outplayed the visiting Mustangs with excellent teamwork and coaching. “We’ve been building over the year to get to this point with our goal of winning CIF,” said Head Coach Arc. There was notable play by team members Miguel Acosta and Nick Hyde. Both had an exceptional game according to Arc.

The Eastern league soccer champions are keeping a clear focus on pursuing their goal of winning CIF this year. “We had a good game tonight. We don’t know who we are facing yet but we’re hoping it’ll be Mission Hills. We lost to them during the season and we’d like to have the chance to play them again,” added coach Arc.

The Cavers (13-5-4) will have that rematch with Mission Hills (5) when they host the Grizzlies (15-7-3) in the CIF division II semifinals this Tuesday, 2/28 at 5 pm in Balboa Stadium.
