When I came to San Diego High I was very excited but lost at the same time; the campus is enormous and so different from my other schools. The morning of the first day of school was kind of scary for me.

Everything was new and unknown; I thought I could find some nice person to help me to find my school, my schedule, and my classes but it didn’t happen.
The personnel of the school was not really helping, they were talking, and giving information to me just like a senior that has been here for three years. Many of them were very annoyed by my questions because it was busy.

I’m a very shy person and for me talk to other people especially in English is very hard, but in that situation I was forced to ask for help from some students. All day I was very lost and stressed about each situation. All day I was just thinking when the day would finish, to go home where I could talk and be comfortable with the people that I know.

The first weeks were going the same way, confusing, and stressful. I thought I was going to hate the campus.
